The Website!
So much has happened in a year! This time last year, my mother and I were sharing our first vendor space together, and now I’m doing lots of solo events, started a patreon, and today I am officially launching my website!!
Please check it out!
I’m really ridiculously novice when it comes to coding and website design, so bless Squarespace for all of their help.
I plan to keep and maintain my Etsy store even though the changes and frankly frightening financial mistakes the website has experienced this year finally pushed me to make my own website. If you’re going to buy prints from me, I’d prefer the new website for ordering, BUT if Etsy makes you more comfortable by all means continue. I cannot express how grateful I am for all of the support I received this past year, and I have learned and grown a lot both as an artist and as an entrepreneur in the digital age. Which brings me to my next topic!
Patreon!
If you haven’t checked it out, I’m doing a lot of personal-boundary pushing over there. I basically exploded out of my comfort zone in an attempt to take my art more seriously rather than just being that friend who draws portraits sometimes or makes those pagan art manipulations that were kinda popular in that sphere. I really, really wanted to work on my own style, do more original work, apply more discipline to my digital art techniques, and I can say that even though I haven’t moved mountains I have definitely met my goals for Year One. My ADHD brain and other illnesses CAN become a factor in my productivity, but for the most part I’ve been fairly on top of things. Commissions are utterly terrifying to me, but I began accepting them at Otakon this summer with great success. Now I’m filling up with more ideas than ever before and I have to make creativity my full time job. In doing that, I will be focusing a lot on creating content for Patreon for my incredibly supportive patrons and I have some big plans involving video camera.
As it’s basically my one year Anniversary being a Serious Artist, I wanted to take the opportunity to remind folks that on November 1, (Samhain) I will be entering the names of all of my patrons into a randomizer. The winner will receive a Commission from me, to be completed by a year and a day from the drawing. (Though, it will probably take fare less time than that!) If you were thinking of pledging even 2 dollars a month (24 dollars a year, not bad at all really), it’s a great time to join the fun as your name will be entered into the drawing.
Coming Up Soon!
